Spain has so many amazing qualities, but one of it’s best are the abundance of beaches. I have been so incredibly lucky and have been able to visit a bunch of them and after some thorough research, I can honestly say that Mallorca is my favorite. Last week, I spent four days in Mallorca and was blown away my the beaches we saw.
Mallorca is one of the Balearic Islands and it is full of the most incredible beaches. If you ever go, it is 100% necessary to have a car. Of course, there are buses, but you won’t be able to get to these little coves and inlets. Bite the bullet and rent a car! We spent each day at a different beach and each is so different from the last. Shannon kept saying, “this is the best beach I’ve ever been to!!!”
Girl’s got a point. Also, ignore my blindness in the above photo…
(always gotta have at least one photo that I might be murdered for…^^^)
Day 1 Beach: Palma de Mallorca
Day 2 Beach: Cala S’Almonia
Tip: wear comfortable shoes because you will park in the neighborhood and then hike for a good 20 minutes to get to the beach. Not recommended for people who can’t climb, as you will need to climb down to the beach and then back up.
Day 3 beach: Es Trenc
Tip: If you want to save money, park somewhere along the road leading to the Es Trenc beach and then walk to the beach. If you park in their parking lot, you will pay 7 Euros for a car and the line is long. We parked and walked about 15 minutes, but it is HOT. Bring an umbrella and a lot of food and water.
Without an umbrella, the sun there is extremely dangerous.
Day 4 beach: Cala Sant Vicent
This was by far my favorite beach day. Obviously, the other days were incredible, but this beach allows you to drive right up (so no hiking in the crazy heat!) and it wasn’t overly crowded, so we could set up camp easily. AND LOOK AT THAT WATER!!!!
But what an amazing day it was!
We chose this beach for our final beach day, but it was definitely further (1.5 hours from Palma) than the other beaches, had tolls, AND we had to pay for parking. But the scenery was incredible. In-cred-i-ble.
And then headed to the airport. Looking back at those pictures makes me long to go back, but I know I’ll be back in the future! I feel so lucky to spend four days in Mallorca, or to spend ANY amount of time in Mallorca.
