Hello, hello from sunny Florida! I flew down to Miami on Wednesday afternoon for a 10 day getaway with my parents.
The reason for our trip is that my cousin is having his Bar Mitzvah, so we made a trip out of it and decided to spend 6 days here in Boynton Beach, Florida and then will be in the Florida Keys for another 4 days. It’s been so nice to be with my parents, and also to be in a warm, sunny place- Madrid has been so unseasonably cold and rainy!
Anyway, here is a little recap of our first two days. I flew from Madrid direct to Miami on a TEN hour flight. At least there was good TV and movies!
And I’m a pro at sleeping on planes so I slept for 6 hours or so 😉
Once I arrived, I found my parents in the airport and we headed directly to Versailles for dinner, which is a famous Cuban restaurant in Little Havana. From there, we headed to our little apartment and then to the supermarket to pick up some goodies for the week.
I forgot how BIG US supermarkets are! ALL OF THIS WAS CEREAL.
On our first morning, had a simple breakfast on the balcony of our apartment.
Eventuallllllly we walked about a mile to the beach with some incredible views and views of these HUGE houses. #goals
We spent the whole day on the beach and I (foolishly) didn’t apply enough sunscreen to my legs. Ouch… But the views were awesome so it’s (almost) worth it!
In the afternoon, we all showered up and then went to the water way for drinks and nachos. I don’t usually ogle over junky food but how pretty are these nachos?!
And this morning, I was up at 6 am, completely wide awake (thanks jet lag!) so I laced up my shoes and headed out for a run with these awesome views.
Today we are planning to go for a long walk, head to the beach for a few hours (with very covered legs) and then we have a family BBQ tonight. I’ll be checking in soon, but I wish you all a very happy weekend!
