Good morning!
Happy Post-Thanksgiving Day/ Post Brown Thursday/ Black Friday!Yesterday was so, so tasty and so much fun. We didn’t do any shopping and I won’t be doing any shopping today. Instead, I’m sitting here in my pajamas, sipping tea, while my dad makes pancakes. This beats malls, crowds, stress, pushing, and fighting any day.
My dad and I started yesterday at the gym where I walked an incline 1 mile, ran 4 miles outside and then sprinted three miles on the treadmill with intervals. The past two years, we have done the Gobble Wobble 5K races, but the local race is too much money, so I opted out this year. Going to the gym was a really great way to start the day and got us pumped for a full day of food….and I guess family too 😉After everyone showered and got dressed, we headed out to first visit my aunt that is in the hospital. I don’t get to see her as often as I would like, but I hope being there yesterday made her day a little bit brighter because it always makes my day brighter.
After visiting, we headed to my cousin Helena’s house and did the Thanksgiving thing for the next 7+ hours.
We ate: Helena did a great job with all of the food! It was hard to stop at just one plate 😉
We laughed: We talked: And we took pictures (because I made everyone do it): We have never had the “typical family photo” so why not do it now? Who cares that the kids are over 20 years old and more than 100 pounds…
Before we got there, I promised myself that I would only eat to the point right BEFORE I want to have my stomach pumped. That feeling is never fun, so I only ate enough to be extremely full, but comfortable. And I succeeded! I was feeling good the whole night and was actually hungry when I woke up today. That’s a success in my book!
We only see this part of the family once a year, so I always have fun hanging out and hearing stories. And playing with the dog!
After the feast, Russ and I vegged out in front of the Steelers/ Ravens game.
The rest of the day will bring pancakes, hanging out with Russ, working on a paper and then a party tonight! I need to get out and see some new people, so I’m looking forward to it.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
