A Night in Avila (with an Accent on the A) and Like Two Pictures from Malaga

Look at me! Coming back in less than 6 months with another fresh post! Actually that’s probably a bad sign, a sign that I am pretty much guaranteed to disappear for the next 8 months after this goes live. I guess you (and I) will find out!

So, like I said, besides our two trips up north, we also spent a very fun night in a rented house in Avila (accent on the first A) with a group of about 20 people. There was a big pool, an outdoor BBQ, two hot tubs, and lots of space for eating and drinking outside. Besides the mosquitos, what more could you want?

We spent basically two full days there since the owners of the property allowed us to check in at 12 pm on Saturday and check out at 5pm on Sunday. Thanks to Spain’s very late sunsets, we had full sun until basically 10 pm the first night. We had a picnic lunch, spent lots of time floating in the pool, and then had a BBQ dinner that the boys made while also the girls sat around and played games.

The boys enjoyed the hot tub together hehe.

We played drinking games, had loud music on, and enjoyed the night and around 3am, we turned off alllll the lights on the property (including the pool), brought out blankets and looked at the stars. It was perfect and a great welcome to Jess to the world of Birthdays In Your 30s.

The next day was more of the same: pool, BBQ, food, beer, and sunshine.

Two weeks later, we headed straight to Malaga for 4 days with friends. We were very stressed about leaving right before opening a new restaurant, but I am happy we went. We arrived around 2am since we drove down after work on a Thursday. I have nothing to show for it except for a picture of some delicious bocadillos that we got off the side of the highway and this picture with my friends:

We headed home sunkissed and happy. Getting away from Madrid and work is good for the soul.

See you in 8 months, or before 😉
