Christmas Gift Guide: For People Who Love to Cook or Bake

I’m back with another gift guide!  This time with things that are perfect for anyone that loves to cook or bake.  Just like my last gift guide, these gifts range in price so don’t be discouraged that many of them are machines!  There are also smaller gifts here.

2016 Christmas Gift Guide:  For People Who Love to Cook and Bake

1 // Oven mitt – don’t underestimate the power of a great oven mitt!  I have burned my fingers through thin oven mitts too many times to count.  HERE is a link to an article with the 8 best and tested oven mitts.

2 // Nice bowls and plates – I am a sucker for any pretty kitchenware, from mugs, to bowls and plates.  The link is for Anthropologie, which has a selection of nice-looking bowls.

3 // Spice rack – make sure they don’t already have something like this, but this can be nice for someone who has a completely disorganized spice cabinet (hey, mom)

4 // Crock Pot – this is quite expensive, but so useful!  There are less expensive models on the market, but read reviews before choosing.  This would make a great gift for people who love to cook, as well as for people who don’t really like it, but like a home-cooked meal after a long day.  The machine does the work!!

5 // Matching measuring cups and spoons – here in Spain, I don’t even have measuring cups or spoons; I just guess everything, but I know at my parent’s house, they have a whole bunch of mismatched bowls and spoons.  I nice set would make a great gift that I 99% won’t be getting for them.

6 // Rice cooker – Ok, this LOOKS expensive, but it’s not nearly as expensive as you think!  Just click the link and take a look. A nice rice cooker is on everyone’s wish list since it can make the perfect rice, oats, quinoa, etc.

7 // Cook books – I love browsing through cookbooks and looking at all of the beautiful photos.  Seriously, take me to a bookstore and that’s where I’ll go.  With that being said, there are SO MANY cookbooks on the market, so you have a ton to choose from.  For me, any “home-cooking healthy” style cookbooks are my favorite.  Search 2016 most popular cookbooks and see what comes up.

8 // Vitamix – This is, by far, the most expensive thing on this gift guide and also happens to be my least favorite.  It would make a wonderful gift for anyone who loves to cook, experiment in the kitchen, make soups, stews, etc.  But very pricey.

9 // Spiralizer – I want one!  These little, handy-dandy machines can turn a variety of vegetables into perfectly cut “noodles” in a matter of seconds.  There are so many ways to lighten a dish with spiralized vegetables, but you need a spiralizer to do it.  These come in a variety of prices, so choose one in your budget…and if you have a little extra money, maybe pair it with a spiralized-vegetable cookbook!!

Other ideas:

  • A local cooking class (try Indian or Italian cooking!  Or a cake-decorating class!)
  • A bread maker
  • The ingredients to make something, like special cookies
  • Interesting ingredients, like spices, different salts, jams, condiments (check Trader Joes for these!).  Try putting everything in a gift basket?!
