  2. Hi Tamara
I came across your posting about what to expect with the notary process to gain Spanish citizenship. I am trying [been on and off for nearly a year] to get citizenship for my son, now 17. Its so frustrating because noone will talk to me…and I dont speak spanish. I got the signed authentication of his Sephardic roots [my mother in laws parents were from Rhodes], but have hit a wall. Can you shed any light? I emailed and eamiled but am getting no repsonse. My son will kill me if I dont make it before he is 18…he is not able to perfect Spanish and take civics exam. Thank you!

    1. Hi Debra! Thank you for contacting me! Please send me an e-mail at tlcohen91@gmail.com and I can see what I can do to help. I am not an expert, but I feel like I’ve made it through most of the tough parts and there is light at the end of the tunnel. I look forward to your message. 🙂

  3. Hi there! After reading your post about VIPkids I am interested in applying. I’m also based in Madrid but am having trouble finding a headset and whiteboard to set up my classroom. Any advice on where to find these things?

    1. Hi Cindy! I found my headset on Amazon and I bought my whiteboard (That I NEVER use) at one of the Chino stores. If you send me an e-mail to tlcohen91@gmail.com, I will help you with everything and practice for your interviews with you. Let me know if you have questions 🙂

  4. Thank you for providing updated info. on Spanish paperwork! I need to get a regreso soon and was really happy to come across your info. from 2018 with helpful links that actually work! 🙂

  5. Hi! Thanks so much for all your advice! I just want to make sure, so if we are Americans and we do the renewal of our card, then we don’t have to go home and renew our visas correct? Thanks!!

    1. Hi Sheila, if you are renewing for the same program, that’s correct. You can do everything from here (Spain). If you are switching programs, you need to go back and get a new visa (even if it’s student visa to student visa).

  6. Thanks for your posts! Did you hear back regarding your Sephardic heritage nationality application and, if so, could you update on the process?

    1. hello! there are update posts- I got my citizenship back in January and wrote about it 🙂 Search Sephardic or passport and it should come up!
