It’s been so long since I’ve given ya’ll a glimpse into one of my days. For whatever reason, these are the HARDEST posts for me to write, yet they are my favorite to read on other people’s blogs. Call me nosy, but I love seeing what normal days look like for other people, so in case you’re part of the nosy club, here is a glimpse into my Saturday.
My alarm went off at the glamorous hour of 5:07 am to get me up for a 6:00 Vipkid class. “Why did you book yourself so early? On a Saturday?” you may ask. Join the party because I have no clue, BUT rest assured I hit snooze and slept until 5:31 and then got up, changed, put on some make-up, took Teddy downstairs to go outside, fed the cat, and make myself some coffee and a piece of raisin toast with AB and J. Hit the spot.
I try not to eat too much before my classes because it makes me burp THE ENTIRE CLASS and no one likes a burping teacher…
At 5:54, I head upstairs and open the Vipkid website and then sit down and settle in. From 6:00-8:30, I work work work (with a 30 minute break courtesy of the kid who didn’t show up yesterday OR today, resulting in paid sleep and blogging #thanksTian).
At 8:30, I finished up the feedback for my classes…”Icecream (really) was great! She participated well, was full of energy, and followed the teacher’s instructions!…etc) and then took Teddy on a freezing walk…
And then quickly hopped in the shower. I would be lying if I told you I’ve showered more than 3 times in the last week, but what’s the point of a blog if not to be brutally honest with how disgusting of a person you really are. So you’re wondering WHY I showered? Well, I showered because I had breakfast plans with Shannon and Claire! So I showered and put on real clothes! What a day, what a day.
Teddy was thrilled.
I grabbed some more coffee, ran downstairs, and headed out to King of Prussia where we decided to meet. It’s a good middle point for the three of us. As always, I was so excited to catch up with Shannon and Claire, two of my best friends (and roommates) from college.
What’s even more exciting about this time is that CLAIRE IS PREGNANT!!! She is my first friend who is having a baby so it was so exciting to talk about that. The babe is about half cooked, so she still has a while to go, but she was glowing and so happy, which makes me so happy! We chatted over coffee and breakfast for about two hours, and then split off and did our own thing, which meant walking around the mall with Shannon. These shoes…………………
are beautiful.
KOP is absolutely INSANE in how large it is? It’s overwhelming!
I drove home in the early afternoon, blasting music and singing along, and then quickly changed out of those overrated ‘real clothes’ and back into sweats. In Madrid, I can spend my entire day (or week) in tights and skirts and dresses, but something about being here, at home, makes that impossible for me.
Around 6:00 I got home, so we had dinner (#American) and then did more of the same. More time relaxing on the sofa and just hanging out. I spent my Saturday night in that location, just like the previous one. When you move away for a long period of time, you come to find that the life you knew before has also moved away, or maybe you’re just not in it. Either way, I don’t have a thriving group of friends here, nor do I have the desire to go out clubbing because I’m at the ripe age of 26. I’m happy to be at home, relaxing, and getting enough sleep so I can get up at 5:47 am on Sunday for more VIPKID!
There you have it! A little glimpse into my day on Saturday. I would LIKE to do more of these posts, so…here’s to attempting.
