After a day in Philadelphia, we had a day to relax and celebrate my birthday (!!!)
Why (how?) am I 26?! I’m old…just look at that grandma sweater in da club!
And then were off the next day for two amazing days in Washington D.C. But wait. before that, we spent a day in Philadelphia, visiting the Penn Museum, since we got free tickets from the library.
The next morning, we set out on the 3 hour drive. My good friend, Maeghan, graciously offered to host us and she was absolutely amazing.
She treated us so well and I couldn’t have asked for more. So lucky to have a friend like that.
We drove down early-ish on Sunday morning, arriving mid-afternoon. We had a few hiccups trying to get into central D.C, which was a bummer, but once we got there, things were great.
We started by walking to the National Air and Space Museum at the recommendation of my parents and the rest of the world (and their mothers). (In case you don’t know, all of the museums in D.C. are FREE so there is something for everyone). Here is a list of them all.
We actually didn’t love the museum, but I think it would be a great option for someone who is into airplanes and space, or someone with kids.
We walked down towards the Capitol building, stopping to have a mini photoshoot 😉
We sat there for a bit, trying to regain some of our energy since we were both exhausted!
From there, we walked all the way over to the Washington Monument. It looks so close on the map! It’s not…
After that, we were way ready for dinner and Maeghan chose an awesome diner for us!
We headed back to Maeghan’s and settled in so we were ready for the next day. That’ll be in the next post!
