La Musa de Espronceda is a bar in Madrid that, even if you are looking for it, you will literally walk right past it. It has a dark exterior with dark windows that make it look closed, even if it’s open, but if you do head inside of La Musa de Espronceda, what you will find are sky-high stacked pinxos (as well as a delicious stuffed tortilla they offer on weekends) and very reasonably priced drinks. La Musa de Espronceda is a bar in Madrid that is located in the Anton Martin area of Madrid, down the street from the Anton Martin market. The servers are very nice, the pinxos are large and share-able (albeit messy) and it’s a good place to have a few rounds of drinks and a snack on the weekend.
Review of La Musa de Espronceda
- Address: Calle de Santa Isabel, 17, 28012 Madrid
- Atmosphere: casual, a bit dark on the inside, a little bit mis-matched, empty during the day, but fills up at night.
- Type of food: Lots of pinxos to choose from (bread that is stacked high with toppings) and multiple raciones.
- What we ordered: I always order a caña or a glass of wine (just 2.4€ for a glass usually) and a few pinxos to share. I like their tortilla with cheese and zucchini, their chicken curry with raisins and the stuffed salmon. They have a lot more to choose from.
- Other recommendations: Any of the pinxos! You have to go over and see them for yourself and since they are so inexpensive, don’t be afraid to try something you’ve never had.
- Would I recommend it?: Yes, for a casual night with friends. Also, it’s in an area with A LOT of other bars, so add this one to the list of places to go in a night.
- Would I go back?: Yes, I always keep it on the back-burner for a quick option with friends.
Rating: 8/10 for food and fun, 8/10 for atmosphere (a bit dark and not much of a breeze)
