Carmencita Bar is a cute little brunch spot that is not only open for brunch on the weekend, but all week and all day long. That’s right, you can get eggs Benedict any time of day! I know, amazing. To be transparent, I was invited to try Carmencita, but I am writing this review without any incentive and all opinions are my own. If you are looking for a great brunch spot, or a great place to have a burger, I 100% recommend this place! It’s located near Plaza de España, so very centrally located and easy to find.
- Address: Calle de San Vicente Ferrer, 51, 28015 Madrid
- Atmosphere: Warm and cozy. Small, wooden tables and chairs, and a small bar for drinks and food. There are big windows so you can see life go by. It’s small, but it adds to the coziness.
- Type of Food: Brunch/ American style. They offer lots of Eggs Benedict, as well as a large selection of burgers that come with delicious fries. See the menu HERE.
- What I ordered: We tried their triple Eggs Benedict plate (called Bunny’s Plate) which included an Egg’s Benedict of salmon, avocado, and bacon. I loved the salmon one and thought the holandaise sauce was delicious. I used to hate Eggs Benedict, but have started loving it this year and can say this is the best I’ve had. We also tried ‘Steffy’s Burger’, which had lettuce, tomato, manchego cheese and mayo and it was amazing. Very juicy and delicious. We were stuffed to the brim.
- Recommendation: Make a reservation for weekend brunch. If you aren’t partial to going on a Saturday or Sunday, check them out during the week. Also, their plates are quite large, so sharing is an option.
Rating: 9/10 for food and 8/10 for atmosphere (we thought the decoration was a bit basic). Would we go back? YES!
