Hi!
I can’t believe an entire month has gone by so quickly. Time is flying by and before I realize, it will be summer, then senior year, then I will be graduating! Ah!
Anyway, since it’s the end of the month, I wanted to check in and write about the small goals that I set for myself in the beginning of the month. The four goals that I set were:
1. Read one book for enjoyment. CHECK! I read Wild, by Cheryl Strayed and LOVED it. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down and neglected a lot of homework and studying in the process. Just having something to read before bed helped me fall asleep faster and gave me something to do besides playing with my phone. I finished it in about a week and am now on the search for a new one!
2. Get A’s on at least two tests. CHECK! I got two A’s and two B’s. 🙂
3. Give myself a break! This is a work in progress, but I think I am doing well with it! I only had minor heart palpitations with one of the B’s that I got and for the other, I was satisfied because I know that I am doing everything that I possibly can to stay afloat in biochemistry. Taking time each day to do something enjoyable plays into this, as well. I have been taking naps (!!) or just lying in bed everyday for the last couple of weeks. I only take 15-20 minutes, but it’s better than not relaxing at all.
4. Go out and have a good time (twice). CHECK!!!! This has definitely been my favorite goal all month. I went out at least twice this month and had soooo much fun both times. I feel more motivated to get things done during the week so I can enjoy myself come Thursday, Friday (or/and) Saturday night! This past weekend was definitely one of the most fun (and funniest) weekends that I have had all year! It has felt incredibly long, which is a good thing because it means that I’m doing a lot of fun things 🙂 I’m excited to go out next weekend and for the rest of semester…and for three weeks from now when Russ will be 21!
5. Stop saying LIKE and YEAH. Yeah…..no. Still working on it!
APRIL GOALS
1. Drink at least 60 ounces of water per day
I drink water all. the. time, but it still never feels like enough. If I don’t drink enough water, I end up feeling sluggish and tired the next day, so hopefully this will help.
2. Two A’s on (at least) two exams
3. Go out two times
This was such an awesome goal that it needs to happen every month.
4. Run a total of thirty miles over the course of the month.
Russ and I will be running the Broad Street Run in a month, so I need this motivation to make myself actually go out and train for it. I ran six (extremely slow) miles this morning, and plan to run seven next weekend!
