Full of fun, full of FOOD, full of family, full of friends, full of work. SO FULL!It seems that as soon as Friday comes along, it’s Monday. It’s hard to believe that next weekend is the last weekend before I head back to school. I could cry.
That’s still a little while from now, so lets talk about this past weekend, shall we?
Friday was like any other day- gym, errands, work, sleep. Nothing too exciting.
Saturday started bright and early so that I could squeeze a workout into an otherwise busy day. I would usually just wait to swim, but it was supposed to storm so I wanted to get it out of the way. Russ went ahead and ran 11 MILES without me the other day, so I have some catching up to do! On Saturday, I stuck with an easy and slow five miles, but it wasn’t easy. For whatever reason, breathing was hard, my legs were like lead, and time ticked by slowly, but I finished it! I plan to do 10 or 11 miles one morning this week. Tuesday maybe? I have plans for a new-to-me workout on Monday!
After a quick shower, my dad and I went to Bell’s Market to pick up a bunch of goodies for Sunday Brunch! This store was really cool! It was like a regular supermarket on steroids. There were all the usual suspects, with a lot of Russian brands and fresh bakery items, cheeses, deli meats, fishes, desserts, etc. we had a lot of fun picking out some new yummy things. In the end, we bough two breads, three pastries, a cheese, three fishes, three types of olives, fruit and pomegranate juice. We rushed home because I had plans to get lunch with my old friend, Nicole. Nicole and I became friends in elementary school and then participated in Indian Princesses together. Over the years, we stopped hanging out, so it was really great to catch up. I miss a lot of the people that I used I be friends with. Time to rekindle those friendships!
The rest of Saturday was spent at the pool. It was cloudy and rainy, so I used the time to work on the blog. As you can see, not much has changed besides the name. I really don’t like any of the other backgrounds, but don’t know how to make my own. I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place so I guess my next step will be to learn how to design a web page.
I got out of work a few minutes early, which was lucky because we had a bunch of people over for dinner! My mom made a big dinner and invited a couple of her friends, along with my cousins and their new baby. He is too cute!We did the typical dinner party thing eat (and then eat more), talk, tell stories, laugh, and then pass out on the couch from being so dang stuffed. Okay, that last part was just me…Sunday started with Sunday Brunch! This week was Breads & Spreads. Russ, his brother, mom and grandma all joined us. I love having people join us for Sunday Brunch because it makes it feel a little more special! Next week’s will be the last one before I head back to school, but I intend to come home every other Sunday to continue this little tradition. I would come home every Sunday, but I have to study… Apparently 🙁
Brunch was really tasty and there was no cooking involved! We had bagels and lox, cranberry-walnut bread, peasant bread, sheep’s milk feta and one other cheese, fresh cherries and fruit salad, a caramel cake, peach stuffed Danish, sour cream cake, various sticky buns and other pastries, and coffee! I had a little but of everything, but made a big effort not to get myself into last nights predicament since I had to do the work thing.I had to rush off to work Sunday afternoon, where I typed up this post, read a little, spent an hour swimming and watched the hours tick by until I could go home for dinner with the family and a some Big Brother with two of my favorite boys.
Hope your weekend was a good one!I’m off to make myself and iced coffee, shower and get ready for work. Enjoy your day!
