Hi friends! I’m checking in a little late this week, but things have been busy and I just can’t seem to find 30 minutes to get a post up! Anyway, here I am so all is right in the world. I want to share about last weekend because this upcoming weekend, I am heading to PARIS and I can’t wait! I’ll be sure to share some pictures once we get back. Have a great weekend, friends (and Dad!) 😉
FRIDAY
Friday was a day full of Bruja’s Bakery baking. I had to bake 36 bagels and make the dough for 36 bagels for the next day, as well as do a delivery. Not to worry, I managed to fit in some shopping 😉
One of my customers sent me this AMAZING picture with my bagels. I actually want to print this and frame it- i mean, look how insanely beautiful?!
Friday night was pretty low-key. Luis and I had to run errands, but we managed to take a moment to watch the sunset, which was nice.
SATURDAY
Saturday started as any Saturday does- with baking bagels and then a workout. From there, we went to ride bikes and then stopped to watch the sunset. Ok wait, there was a lot more in the middle – mostly laundry and doing things on the computer and eating lunch. When it started to get chilly, we headed out to do ‘research’ for Bruja’s Bakery. We were going to visit Monkee Coffee, but on the way we saw a place called ‘Bagels & Sandwiches’ and I though OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have competition! So we went in to get a bagel and (luckily), this was the bagel! It was actually just like a hamburger bun! Phew! Close call!
On Saturday night, Luis and I had dinner with his university friends, which was fun. We stayed out until about 1 am, and I kept thinking ‘I am going to hate myself tomorrow when I get up at 6.30 am’.
SUNDAY
If you used your context clues, you might realize that I was NOT happy when the alarm went off, but duty called. I baked 36 bagels, 18 to deliver to Bite Me, and 18 for a brunch I was hosting. Earlier last week, I messaged my friends and said ‘Hey! Let’s run a 10k this weekend and then do brunch at my place!’. And they all said ‘I’ll just come for brunch’. Now I know how Henny Penny felt 😉
Luckily, Lee and Luis were down for the run and although we accidentally missed the beginning of the race, we still had a great time and ran pretty hard.
(Blind from the sun!)
We hopped on the bus and headed home to get ready for our Henny Penny brunch!
I made the bagels and the quiche, fruit and vegetable plates, but that amazing quiche was made by Alex, my friend Leanna’s boyfriend. It was a triple layer cheesecake made with Greek yogurt and marscapone cheese and SO GOOD.
I love these people and feel so sad they will be leaving in a few months!
The rest of the afternoon was spent cleaning, having drinks with some of them, and relaxing. Catch you next week!
