Happy Friday [and HAPPY SNOW DAY! if it applies]
We sure did get a lot of snow over here, so I’m doing the usual snow day things. Movies, eating comfort food like chili and corn bread, going sledding (HOPEFULLY), oh..and I slept for 13 hours 🙂
Besides comfort food, colorful VEGETABLES have made their way back into my life! My family eats a lot of vegetables, but nothing like the way I do at school, so I took matters into my own hands and stocked up on:
- spinach
- snow peas
- red peppers
- baby carrots
- leeks
- apples
- bananas
- cucumbers
- lettuce
All of that will probably be gone very shortly, but for now, it’s making some delicious meals to fuel my workouts.
Spinach, peppers, carrots, pumpkin, cucumber- dressed with olive oil, honey, S & P. On the side: brown rice with corn and an omelet with Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese and Cheddar Cheese.
So good and so missed.
And for the workouts from this past week:
Saturday: None. We were in New York.
Sunday: Rest.
Monday: 3 mile run, shoulders + abs.
Tuesday: 5 mile run with Russ. Last workout of 2013 and it was a good one!
Wednesday: 10 minutes on the elliptical and 24 minute run outside + triceps + abs.
Thursday: 10 minutes on the elliptical, 10 minutes of incline walking (5 forward, 5 reverse), 15 minutes of jogging and sprint intervals on the treadmill + biceps + abs
Friday: 40 minutes of shoveling [heavy] snow and I plan to do a circuit workout in the living room + abs.
That’s all, folks. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I don’t have any grand plans for this weekend, but I do want to make these babies. Mmmmmmm…Have a great weekend 🙂
