It Takes Less to Get Fit Than You Think

It Takes Less To Get Fit Than You Think

Today I am sharing a collaborative article written with a few tips on how to get and stay in shape.  The part about using apps is my favorite!  Though I enjoy working out regularly, one of my go-to motivators is using an app to tell me what to do!  As always, thank you for reading and supporting A Spoonful of TLC.

You may think it’s quite tricky, or overwhleming, to get fit and get in shape. Sometimes it can be, especially for certain people and genetics don’t make it any easier. For instance, you might have a slow metabolism. That means it’s going to take more time to burn off the calories and drop those pounds than it may for other people. It’s also possible that obesity runs in your family. If that’s the case, then you will, unfortunately, be more prone to being overweight too. Despite these obstacles, it isn’t impossible to get fit and get in shape. You just need to get a few things right from the start. Here are the top recommendations that you need.It Takes Less To Get Fit Than You Think

Want To Get Fit? There’s An App For That

Of course there’s an app for getting fit. In fact, there are countless apps, for example: Noom. What is Noom? Well, it’s the app designed for millennials looking to get fit and stay in shape for good. But don’t worry if you’re not a millennial, it also works for everyone else. Basically, this app allows you to track and record your fitness progress while the app provides you with tips and pointers on how to reach your fitness goals. It’s kind of like having a personal trainer in your pocket, except without the expensive bills and the constant guilt trips. If this doesn’t sound like the app for you, be sure to check the app store where there are countless others with similar, as well as unique features, that can help you stay on track.

One of the first things many people do when they’re trying to get fit is buy a lot of exercise equipment that they don’t understand and don’t really need. Weights, electric toners and exercise bikes are all often thrown into the mix as we enthusiastically set up a home gym. Why a home gym? Because many people don’t want to head to the regular gym until they reach a certain weight where they feel comfortable wearing workout gear and for other people to see them exercising. Unfortunately, all of the equipment often ends up in a garage or a spare room after it’s ambitiously used once.

The mistake made here is that you don’t need tons of exercise equipment to get started. No, you just need a good pair of running shoes you’re good to go! If your feet are comfortable, you’ll be able to run or speed walk your way to your fitness goals, which is great for your heart and your waistline. Start off slowly by setting out on a loop that will take you back home. Perhaps start off with a mile and then slowly build up to three. Before you know it you could be ready to run a marathon…but baby steps.

Cool! A Cookbook

Not everyone would like to receive a cookbook as a gift. Many people see cooking as a chore, while others love whipping up tasty treats.  If you want to lose weight, being someone who enjoys cooking and creating healthy food will help you in your journey.  A cookbook is a great starting point because they’re often filled with healthy recipes that can be cooked up in minutes and will go down a treat. Forget supplements, this is the best way to make sure your body gets everything you need to lose weight. It Takes Less To Get Fit Than You Think
