The Most Filling Breakfast

Hello hello!

Happy Tuesday!  Today I am sharing my standby breakfast recipe that is my day-to-day go-to.  It’s simple (ready in under 5 minutes!), cozy, comforting, tasty AND most importantly, it’s filling!  Over the years, I have experimented with fancy breakfasts (it’s my favorite meal of the day!) from eggs, to bagels, to egg sandwiches, fancy oatmeals with all the toppings, toast, cereal, and more.  But I keep coming back to this bowl!  For me, there is no better way to start my day than with a bowl of these oats and a big cup of coffee.  It’s so simple, yet so good.  Enjoy!DSC_0022

Not only is a bowl of oatmeal delicious (hello vehicle for other foods!), but oats are also incredibly healthy.  Oats are a great source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.

  • Just one serving has 191% of the RDV for Manganese, 41% of the RDV for Phosphorus and 34% of the RDV for Magnesium, not to mention a handful of others.
  • Since they’re fibrous, they help reduce the “bad” cholesterol and raise the “good” kind, and also increase feelings of fullness.
  • These babies help control blood sugar since they don’t cause any major spikes- which also helps you feel good without any blood sugar dips.

Those are just a few benefits, but there are so many other benefits.  My favorite benefit of all?  That oatmeal is pretty bland by itself, so use it to carry whatever else you’re in the mood for- fruits, nuts, or even eggs, cheese and hot sauce!
