Besides Thanksgiving, the rest of the weekend was awesome too and I just wouldn’t be me if I didn’t provide you with an excessive number of unwanted details so…. here we go.
Saturday
After Friday’s Thanksgiving, the house resembled a tornado destruction scene, so Luis and I spent a good couple of hours throwing out trash, cleaning dishes, sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables… the works! And then I promptly got back into bed and slept another couple of hours becuase we were up until 5 am the night before and I am well into my old age and can’t handle that.
When I did wake up, I took a shower and got dressed to head to Thanksgiving numero dos, which was hosted by Cristina and her roomies. Here is Cristina, the night before:
Her thanksgiving was the kind where people don’t get excessively drunk and we all sit around a table a talk and laugh and play hilarious games, which was super fun for me. True to fashion, I arrived an hour late (Sorry Cristina!!!), and they were just sitting down when I got there, but check out this impressive spread!
That salad had baked feta and was incredibly good, and that green bean casserole was made with homemade mushroom soup and homemade fried onions. Impressed is an understatement.
Cristina spent the entire day setting up, cooking this HUGE turkey, and making the most delicious gravy- seriously, best gravy of my life.
More than the food, though, was the company. What a great group of people!! Don’t mind my red teeth from the red wine….
After the dinner, I met up with Luis who was at a party with his friends from University. I didn’t get there until almost 2 in the morning and it’s safe to say, they were slightly wasted haha. We stayed out until 4:30 in the morning, and then called it a night.
Sunday
On Sunday, I was up early, but was able to fall back asleep before eventually getting up to go for a run. It was a beautiful, sunny fall day, and a good 45 minute run was what I needed after this weekend.
But before that! Breakfast! You knew this was coming, didn’t you?
And Luis made another batch of his famous Shakshuka! And took photos!
And with Monday morning came the most beautiful sunrise!
Not a bad way to start the week. With that, I’ll leave you, and hey- just two more days until the weekend! We got this!!
