Hello! I know I posted today, but it drives me crazy to let a post get away and also, wouldn’t want to leave you all wondering what I did this weekend, would I? No! So here we go- another weekend in the books. I don’t have much to share, so I’ll share the photos I do have with just a few words:
Friday
Friday was all about bagel deliveries and then a tour on Friday night.
Saturday
I was up bright and early on Saturday to make A LOT of bagels.
And then I went for a quick run, and then slept all of Saturday afternoon before getting up to get dressed before heading to a surprise party for one of Luis’ friends! He wasn’t surprised (haha), but they served some delicious Manchego cheese and tortilla de patatas with mushrooms, among other nibbles.
Sunday
On Sunday, Luis and I went to see the sheep! We went a few years ago and this was my second time going, despite putting it on my calendar every year. Every year, over 1000 sheep walk through the city center of Madrid in the annual Trashumancia, which is an event to raise awareness about farming, climate change, and efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
Besides that, it’s pretty insane to see so many sheep in the middle of a city! And so much poop!!
There are also traditional outfits and dances.
The rest of Sunday was pretty low-key. We ran home from there (6 km in total), stopped to pick up a new flower pot and some soil to transfer one of our plants that was looking pretty unhappy in his pot, and then had some lunch.
I followed this recipe from Bon Appetit for their crispy mushroom pasta, only I used fat free milk instead of cream and used dried parsley instead of fresh. And no butter, but it was still mighty delicious.
Besides that, we cleaned the house, prepped some food for the week (baked tofu, roasted sweet potato, eggplant, and zucchini, and made extra pasta), hung a painting that has been waiting to be hung FOR A YEAR, and returned a coat to Mango.
And I made this cookie cake, which was the unhealthy version of my healthy cookie cake and as expected, it was delicious. I sent the entire thing to work with Luis this morning.
Happy Week!
