Weekend: Game Night-Punta Cana Reunion & Family Brunch.

Good Morning!DSC_0001How was your weekend?  Did it fly by like usual?  Yes, mine did too.

I unexpectedly had the day off on Friday (woo!), but then it happened to be a day that poured and stormed all day.  Of all the days I take off… But anyway, I used the day to do some odds and ends around the house to earn extra $$ (I’m like, 15, I know).  I cleared out the basement, loaded old games and junk into the car, along with a HUUUUGE bag of clothing to sell, and then Russ and I drove all over the place to sell the stuff.  It literally took like 3 hours and we made….wait for it…………………………………………..$1.80.  Ha.  I felt like a drug addict trying to sell old stuff so I could get drug money.  I guess it was worth a try, although Russ did tell me it was all junk.  He was right.

Russ and I had every intention of going to Salsa lessons in the city on Friday night, but as time ticked on by, we were feeling lazier and lazier, so we chalked the idea and watched “Shark Tank” and “What Would You Do?”.  WWYD is one of those shows that draaaaags you in, but in reality, it’s kind of off-putting.  Maybe because I wouldn’t do anything in most of those situations.  I might be a terrible person.  And I guess it was cool that this episode was filmed in Ocean City, New Jersey.

We stayed in Friday, but we had fun plans for Saturday!  We finally were able to get together with 3 of our Punta Cana friends.DSC_0294

Unfortunately, the reunion wasn’t in any tropical location, but….it was at Brandyn and Kevin’s house 🙂  **Everyone in the above picture was there, expect for the person next to Russ (that isn’t me, obv.).  Two of them (Kevin and Brandyn) happen to live about 25 minutes from us, and then another one (Amanda), was in town for work.  Small world, eh?  We all went to Kevin and Brandyn’s for Game Night (with more of their friends), and it was so much fun.photo 2 I really haven’t laughed that hard in so long.  Game night might SOUND like something that old, boring people do.  But I assure you, when you get a group of people together, especially when some of them are hilarious (ahem Brandyn and Kevin), with a lot of drinks and food and games like Cranium, it is amazingly fun.  Try it.  Russ made 7-Layer Taco Dip, which was delicious and devoured, and I did my fair share of eating a lot (a LOT) of chips and dip.

And…Russ’ twin’s twin was there!photo 1

We didn’t get home until after 2 am and I wasn’t in bed until after 3 (had to help someone) get to bed.  Not mentioning any names here.  I was super exhausted in the morning, but peeled myself out of bed for:

FAMILY BRUNCH.DSC_0025

It’s been far too long, and we had a favorite–> French toast with fruit salad.  We were, however, wondering if Pancake Syrup can actually also be used for French Toast, since it doesn’t say it on the bottle.  We determined that, yes, it CAN be used on french toast.  (Although…why would you want high fructose corn syrup & corn syrup-laden stuff, when you got the good stuff right next to it?)

Simple and delicious.DSC_0028

An extra bonus was that I got out of work nice and early.  A wonderful Sunday, after all.

Hope yours was great, too!
