WIAW #9

Yeah, last week I called the post WIAW #7, but then I realized I already had a number 7, so this makes 9!  As always, thank you to Jenn @ Peas and Crayons for hosting! (www.peasandcrayons.com)

It’s already pretty late in the day, so let’s get to it, shall we?!

Wait, first- backing up to yesterday!  It was my dad’s birthday so we celebrated with a beautiful fruit tart that my mom bought.  It was delicious and I think my dad really liked it 🙂

Today has been the busiest and most structured day that I have had in…weeks.  I actually had places to be and people to see, which was both nice, but depressing because it means that my structureless and commitment-free days of summer are over.  Ah, all’s well that ends well, right?

Breakfast

After a four mile run, a bicep workout, butt and abs, I was starving.  Mind you, it was almost noon by the time I actually got home, so I was more than ready to dive into breakfast.  Side note- I’m happy to report that I have completed my first GymPact workout.  All I did was turn on RunKeeper, (which I always do), and it automatically synced with GymPact.  Oh, and another side note- if anyone is interested in using GymPact, you can sign up referred by me and receive five dollars to get you started.  Feel free to comment or e-mail me if you’re interested!

Back to breakfast!

I gulped this bowl down and then had another half of a bowl.  I was huuuungry!

About an hour later, I had an apple.

Oh, and iced coffee!  Actually, it’s iced espresso.  My family is addicted to Cuban espresso.

I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up the pool where I will be working this summer.  I didn’t really plan to be there all day, so I worked through lunch and got home around five and made a kitchen sink salad.  No exaggeration here- everything I found in my fridge went into this salad, but it was yummy!

I used the rest of the spring mix and added broccoli, strawberries (from the farmer’s market!), tofu, chicken, quinoa, carrots, a handful of trail mix and balsamic glaze.

As soon as I snapped a photo, I shook the whole thing up and inhaled it in no time 😉

I also ate a nectarine.  I love when my mom comes home with produce!

I had to eat quickly because I had an appointment to go see if I was eligible to be a part of a study on hypnosis.  I [attempted] to be hypnotized, but didn’t score high enough!  It was a fun and interesting experience, though!

After that, I needed to kill some time before heading to Russ’ apartment, so I went to TJ Maxxx.  I’ve been on the lookout for a casual maxi dress and TJ Maxxx has a huge selection.  I ended up buying two that I like, but I plan to return one…I just need to figure out which I like less.  Of course, I couldn’t leave without buying a pair of bright running shorts.  They just call to me from the rack…
I had carrots on the ride to Russy’s…

I’m a walrus!  Don’t worry Dad, this picture was taken at a red light!
Russy and I made dinner together out of odds and ends in Russ’ fridge.  It was really tasty!

Whole wheat spaghetti, Trader Joe’s Apple Chicken Sausage, tomatoes, feta & goat cheese and steamed green beans.  Russ had 2x the amount of pasta shown here!
For dessert, we are having gelati!  Russ is so thoughtful and got some for us on his way home from basketball!

I think I’ll keep him 😉
 Have a great night!
