HEY! Long time, no talk, eh?!? Sorry for the major disappearance there- I know you were all just so worried. I won’t do it again 😉 Not even exaggerating that every day for the last 3 weeks has had “write blog” on my to-do list and there is a little unchecked box next to it on each of those days. I was extra tired and extra busy the last couple of weeks (they probably go hand in hand) and every time I even had a small window to sit down and update you all on the super exciting things in my life, I just felt so ‘blah’ about doing it and that has led us to here–many many days since my last post. Anyway! Better late than never! Since I don’t really have a concrete excuse for where I’ve been (besides making a bunch of bagels), then I’l just share a few photos from the last few weeks and we can call it a day. Mom, I know you just love love love the food photos, so they are in abundance for you 😉
Lee and I hung out a couple of times! Having Lee in Madrid has been great and we have met up a few times in the last couple of weeks – once to share a plate of Senegalese food and then a slice of Manchego cheesecake from Mercado San Fernando (yum!) and once to have Indian food with Luis (also yum!).
Lots of sweet treats were had…On Sundays, Luis and I almost always go for a run with some destination in mind where we go to do ‘research’. We used to go find places that sold bagels in Madrid, but now that we have exhausted those, we go to various cafes or brunch spots. Recently we have been to Delish Vegan Donuts (Bite Me is way better), Toma Cafe (loved the decor and cheesecake!), and a I had a piece of chocolate cake with dulce de leche at Federal with friends.
What else? We have been having some AMAZING weather for about 2 weeks now. Actually, as I am typing this on Monday March 4, it’s the coldest it’s been in weeks and it’s in the mid-50s. It has been close to 70* and sunny for many days and I am just L O V I N G it.
On Friday, I went for rooftop drinks with friends at El Viajero in La Latina. Amazing place, beautiful views, terrible service!
The last two weeks have brought a HUGE number of bagel orders- I felt like every day was spent walking between the oven and the mixer!
And to end, some random photos that fall into no other category except that my head isn’t screwed on tight enough:
The face mask picture is a face mask I bought from Primor- it’s a MAGNETIC facemask so you put the goop on your face and leave it there for 15 mins, and then you use a magnet to ut it off and it comes off it little magnetic fibers. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s strange and I think it works. The shoes are from Massimo Dutti… and I kind of like them 😉
Oh, and actually last: this is one of the reasons Spain has a long life expectancy:
That is all! Talk sooner rather than later. XOXO
