Checking In XVIII

Hello from my quarantine to yours!  Hope you are holding up well wherever you are and whoever you are with (whomever?).  We are hanging in there ok over  here- actually very, very busy with work, which I feel very lucky to be able to say.  Every day seems busier than the last, so I am counting my lucky stars that we are able to make the most of these strange, scary times.  Today is Monday, April 6th and it is my day off for the week.  Usually, Tuesday is also a day off, but since I hate myself, I decided we will be open this coming Wednesday which means I have a lot of work to do tomorrow to prep for Wednesday.  I have finally hired someone to help me in the coming weeks because doing this all alone was getting to be too much.  Anyway, hello!  and thanks for stopping by.

Making: a sh!t ton of bagels.  Besides the food I make in the shop, I have very, very little desire to make anything else at home.  We eat a lot of rice, fried eggs, and salads.  Send help.
Cooking:  see above- not much.  I do have the following on my to do list: burgers, meatloaf, lasagna.  How much of it will get made?  Probably none, actually.
Drinking: lots of water and coffee.  Have you seen the Dalgona coffee trend?  I tried it and while I think it looks cool, I thought it was gross.  Luis really enjoyed it.  I want to give it another try with better quality coffee and less sugar.
Reading:  Nothing.  I wish this weren’t the case.  I really want to read Deborah Feldman’s memoir after seeing Unorthodox.
Wanting: to be able to go for a run in the sunshine
Looking: forward to when things get back to normal- tapas bars, cafes on the corner, seeing friends, going for walks, going shopping.  The usual!
Eating: Nothing at the moment but as soon as I post this, I will make…dun dun dun….a big salad for dinner!  It will have lettuce, tomato, cucumber, corn, tuna packed in oil, red onion, chick peas, burgos cheese, walnuts, and raisins.
Wishing: That people will start to get better soon and that we have reached the peak in this awful virus.
Enjoying: getting to sleep 10 hours 1-3 nights per week!  Despite working incredibly hard these days, having a few real days off allows me to get some much needed sleep and I really take advantage.  Poor Luis never has a day off.
Loving: Having time to do things I couldn’t do before!  I have organized almost every drawer and closet in the house, updated my entire bagel website, created a budget report for last month, gotten in touch with people for a new sign…so many to-dos have been crossed off.
Hoping: that this week is easier in last.  Funny: the last time I wrote this type of post, I wrote that I was hoping that we found a bakery location soon!
Listening: I have been listening to a lot of podcasts about coronavirus, specifically the CNN daily update.  It’s short and I find them interesting.
Feeling: in pain, my back muscles have been sore from hunching over the computer and my phone.  My wrists hurt from holding my phone to reply to messages.  My hands hurt from making bagels.  My knees hurt from standing all day.
Wearing: pajamas.  We just did a really hard Les Mills workout and then I washed my hair!  Besides that, I was in pajamas all day.
Watching: Nothing at the moment.  We binge watched Unorthodox and I wish there were more!
Bookmarking: this flourless chocolate cake that I MAY try to make for passover…
