Fitness Friday: First Week Of Senior Year

A busy week, yes, but that didn’t get me to fall off the exercise bandwagon.  Check it out!

Friday: Rest day.  I needed it after those 20 miles…and it was Freshman Move-In Day!

Saturday: 3.5 mile run and a trip to the gym to do a series of triceps exercises and abs.  The run felt slow, but strong.  It was a good one!

Sunday: Planned 4 miles run, but after two miles, I started experiencing shooting pain from my left knee, down my leg into my foot, so it turned into a limp/jog/walk for a total of 3.5 miles.  I still went to the gym and did some biceps stuff and ab work.  It only hurts when I run, so walking is okay.  I really hope this isn’t something long-term.

Monday: 20 minutes on the elliptical, followed by a shoulder workout and abs out on the gym terrace.  My knee is still really bothering me, but not when I use the elliptical.

Tuesday: 10 minutes on the elliptical and 25 minutes on the treadmill at an incline of 12 and a walking pace of 4.0-4.2.  Left me nice and sweaty!  After an episode and a half of Scrubs, I did a chest workout, followed by abs.

Wednesday:  10 minutes of the elliptical and 20 minutes on the treadmill for more incline walking then LEGS!  Lots and lots of lunges, squats, and all of the leg machines followed by abs.  It’s Friday and I’m still waddling like a duck.

Thursday:  I did a big scramble of cardio while watching SVU.  10 minutes on the elliptical, five minutes on another elliptical, fifteen minutes on the treadmill for incline walking, five minutes on the stair master and another 15 minutes on the treadmill.

I may or may not have gym ADD, but it did the trick.  I was soaked in sweat after 50 minutes 🙂

Friday: Rest day.  Exhausted.

Overall, it was a pretty good week in terms of exercise.  As of right now, I have every intention of getting back into SPINNING (my favorite) next week, but it’s from 7-8 am, I have a class at 8 and it’s a mile away.  We’ll see if I can make it work, but if not, I definitely need something to incorporate into the exercise routine because I just don’t have the attention span for my own creative workouts 5+ days per week.  How much treadmill/ elliptical can a girl do?

My knee is feeling a lot better, but I tried running yesterday and it’s definitely still uncomfortable.  I’m working really hard to not push myself and risk even more injury because the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon is just two short weeks away and then the marathon is 2.5 months away.  I cannot. cannot. cannot get injured before then.

I will cross both of those finish lines…KEN MARATHON COMIC
