I’m off today, but the store is still open! Isn’t that pretty amazing? There was a loooong time there that I really thought this sort of day would never happen…where I can sit at home and get other things done (like reply to emails, work on other projects, and clean up the house) while someone else takes care of my baby. FINALLY! It’s actually the third day in the last month that I am doing this and it really does blow my mind that we have gotten to this point. The turning point has been finding a GREAT team that feels like a small family that I can completely trust.

My plan going forward is that I will have two days off per week on weekdays (once on Monday, when we are closed, and one on Wednesday, when we are open but it’s usually a somewhat light day). The hard part about having a day off during the week is that it doesn’t feel like a weekend. Everyone else is working (including Luis), so I feel like I should be working too…and then I feel guilty if I just want to sit in front of the TV or take a nap. Weekend Wednesday doesn’t have the same vibe as Weekend Saturday, ya know???

The plan for the day includes: 1) figure out delivery routes for tomorrow’s deliveries — we deliver every Thursday and usually I do this Wednesday night while I am dead tired, but now I can do it during the day, 2) zoom meeting about a possible ordering system we can use, 3) special interview… 4) meeting with Wix about our experience using their website builders, 5) take a long walk in there and 6) drink a glass of wine when it is all done.
