Hello and Happy HUMP DAY! It’s insane how quickly the days and weeks pass. This morning I said to Luis that it always feels like it’s either Monday or it’s Friday. There is no inbetween! Today I thought I would share a few random musings with you all and I have about 13 minutes to get this typed and posted before I need to run out the door. Ready?
// I had a delivery last week and went to this woman’s apartment who had lots and lots and lots of plants and now I am very into plants. I have purchased 2 new hanging plants this week and now I just need to get them… hung.
// Yesterday I spent TWO HOURS on the phone with Wix, the company I use to host Bruja’s Bakery and also for my website design. People sometimes ask how I made such a nice website and my little secret is Wix. They are the best for clean, easy-to-use website templates and decent customer service. I say decent because yesterday’s eternal call was due to the fact that TWO of their employees told me I could downgrade my site, but maintain all store functionality and just lose the PayPal option and after going through the whole process of doing that, another employee told me that it’s not true, so we had to reverse all of the damage. Fun times! The good news is that I got a 1 year subscription for 50% off!
// This week has been a lot slower for Bruja’s Bakery- actually one of the slowest in over a year (salvo when I have been out of the country). I’m not sure what makes one week busy and the next not busy.
// I’ve mentioned here before that I am a food tour guide in Madrid, which is a super fun job, but MAN, it can be exhausting. Yesterday I had a tour and I felt completely wiped afterwards… I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I have to be “peppy” for 3 hours or what, but I came home and slept for an hour afterwards! Speaking of naps, I have been taking 15-30 minute naps most days and they are life changing. I sort of feel like an a$$hole when I admit that, because having the luxury to, you know, SLEEP whenever I want is just that – a luxury – but it’s the nature of working for myself I guess.
// That picture at the top (of the granola bars) are these granola bars that I tested out for my future, currently imaginary Bruja’s Bakery location. They are made with two oat layers that have oats, almond butter, vanilla, salt, and honey, and a layer of melted chocolate and almond butter. They were awesome, if I may say so myself!
