Showing Valentine’s Day Love With Cookies

Valentine’s Day is always one of those holidays that sneaks up on me each year and then I find myself scrambling to figure out what my plans are.  This year, I told Russ that I wanted to skip out on Valentine’s day, or celebrate on the weekend.  Well, he wasn’t going to let that fly, so he came to visit me for a few hours last night.  We didn’t do anything extravagant or anything.  We just went out to dinner and spent a few hours together during the week, which is special in and of itself.  That’s all Valentine’s Day is really about to me- spending a bit of extra time with someone who I care about.  Of course, I couldn’t let the day go by with finding my way into Russy’s heart, and what better way to do that than go directly there?  I took the fastest way to get there-through his stomach.

I used my artistic ability and expressed my love with cookies from Giant and a couple of tubes of icing.

If those beautiful pieces of art don’t say “I love you”, then I don’t know what does.

It was a special treat to be with Russ during the week and I feel lucky to have had such a wonderful Valentine, who also happens to be my Valentine the other 364 days of the year 🙂

Earlier in the week, the rest of the RA staff and I put on an event called Love Is A Gamble that offered casino games, mocktails, and cocktail party food.  While the turnout wasn’t as large as we would have liked, it was fun to dress up, set everything up and spend time with everyone.IMG_2921

A successful Valentine’s Day (week) surrounded by the people who I love!
