Chatting – Holidays, Plants, Workouts, and More

Good morning, people!

I have a few posts I want to write, like a recap from Paris with my Mom, recipes I’ve tried lately, and a little update on the Bruja’s Bakery location, but those will have to wait.  For now, I’m here to casually chat with you and tell you some things.  Ready?  READY!

First of all, my head is all screwed up because in Spain, Friday is a holiday so it’s a long weekend, which means it’s a short week and I can’t seem to keep track of what day it is.  Besides it being a short week, it’s also the busiest Bruja’s Bakery week I have had in….months, which I am very happy about, but again- head spinning!

On a somewhat related note, someone (an American) from the south of Spain contacted me to ask if I could overnight ship bagels to them.  I told them that I am really not sure in what state they will arrive, but they wanted to give it a try anyway.  So I am supposed to send bagels today, but it’s really giving me anxiety! I had weird dreams about it last night.

Moving on from that, I have been very, very into plants lately.  Not like my parents though- with plants all over the counter that drive me nuts- sorry Mom and Dad, but plants on tables and shelves are nice!  I just don’t like that when I pick them up, they “shed” dirt and other debris.  One of them especially sheds often and if we find a Bruja’s Bakery location, he will be getting a new home there!  Another great thing about plants is that I have found a way to use some mugs that I have accumulated over the year- they make nice pots!

Actually, after looking at this photo, I want to add a few short plants, or hanging plants, to that very top shelf (which is definitely covered in a thick layer of dust).

I haven’t talked about exercise much on here in quite some time, although my header does say this is a fitness blog.  I do workout though!  These days, I am not a member of the gym.  Instead, I aim to walk 10,000 steps (but I lost my trusty FitBit after more than 5 years together— SOB!!!!!) and also go running on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesdays.  It works for me, for now.  My plan is to join the gym on Black Friday, when there is no registration fee.

What else?  We don’t have any Halloween plans, but I do want to make these homemade Reese’s Cups, and these homemade Twix Bars.  Maybe I can do that today?

Alright, that’s all I have for you!  I am off to make 8 rounds of bagel dough and 3 rounds of cookie dough before getting started on baking today’s bagels.  I might try to get back on here in the next couple of days, but if not, have a nice weekend!
