Fitness Friday: Preparing

Ah, Friday again!  I tried, I really tried to blog once this week.  I even started a post and wrote most of it…but then I didn’t finish.   That happens too often.

I should be able to post more next week and then a lot mor over winter break.  I’ll just have to find time between watching movies and baking everything on this website.  My bookmarks are flooded with so many of those recipes!  Like this one.  AH!  Her photography is amazing and the food looks incredible.  One day…

Now that I’ve talked all about desserts, lets talk about exercise, shall we?  I feel like in the back of my mind somewhere, I have been making a little bit of an effort to get in some good workouts and load my plate with veggies because, well, come tomorrow, all bets are off.  Food….and lots of it…will be EVERYWHERE!  And I can’t wait!  Bring it on.photo-1Saturday:  30 minute workout with Russ.  It included over 5 minutes of burpees, bear crawls, push ups and 6 minutes of sprinting up and down the stairs.  Quick and effective!

Sunday:  Four mile run followed by some ab work.

Monday:  20 minute moning jog.

Tuesday:  Five mile run on the treadmill while watching SVU.  I swear I was only going to do 25 minutes, but I just had to know how it ended!  (They caught the guy and he ended up in jail, obviously).  I followed it up with a triceps workout and quick abs.

Wednesday:  20 minute morning jog.  It feels good to get my heart pumping first thing!  I wake up at 6:55, I am on the treadmill by 7:01 am and finished by 7:23 am.  Done and done!

Thursday: 10 minute run outside, 15 minute run on the treadmill, 5 minutes of incline walking, 5 minutes of running.  Followed by a mish-mash of biceps exercises interspresed with legs and back.  Finished with abs, push ups and 5 minutes on the stairmaster.

Friday: Ten minutes of jogging on the treadmill, then I got bored and took my cardio outside.  I finished up another four miles for a total of five!  When I got back to the gym, I did abs and pushups.  I have been trying to get into the habit of doing 6 sets of 10 (modified) pushups.  It’s tough!  Pus-ups have never been my thing.

Well, that’s it!  I’m hoping to sneak in some quality workouts over the week and next week to try and reduce some of the delicious damage that is coming my way.  Have a great weekend!  And don’t forget to wear your strechy pants 🙂
