Lately.

Whoops, another long and unintentional hiatus from blogging.  This might be the longest break I’ve taken…ever.  And not really for any good reason.  I’ve been busy, but I’ve been busy a lot of times in the last couple of years and always make time to write on here.  I think about writing/ updating everyday, but I feel like I have nothing to say, which is ironic because it feels like so much is going on (Example A:  Started this post Tuesday two weeks ago, posted it Oct 6th).  Perhaps it feels like there isn’t much to say because each day blurs into the next and it’s one long day of train rides, class, studying, homework, and semi-frantically trying to keep my head above water.  For some reason, I also get (nervous?) about updating?  I don’t know how to explain it.  It feels like it’s been so long so what’s another day?

Anywho, I’m going to make a much better effort to update often, not only for my 3 loyal readers* (haha) but for myself, so I can look back and see all the fun that was being had during this time! [Semi-sarcasm]  I think I have a pretty good grasp on things right now, school-wise, but I also know how easy it is to slip under and be drowned by Xfinal=XInitial + VInitial-1/2gravity(time)^2 and parts of the cell- endoplasmic reticulum, cytoplasm, Golgi body galore, and how to identify a molecule by its NMR spectroscopy.   I know you wanted a visual. 🙂

I actually don’t mind the work… It just feels like a never ending job where the work comes home with me and permeates my dreams (nightmares). Okay that makes it sound super bad, but Russ and my parents have been little angels when it comes to giving me time, space, and free passes on things like cleaning up after dinner and other chores.  I go to bed each night feeling semi-accomplished with what I did that day, but always with a running to do list of the chapters that need to be read and the problems that need to be solved.

Besides all the unfun that is school, I have also been having some actual fun!  It’s important to fit it into the busy schedule or else I will be at high risk for head explosion.  Ain’t nobody got time fo’ that. So. Back to all the fun being had…

First of all, there is Teddy!photo 2-3  He’s our newest family member and while I want to write an entire post about him, I will say that I am Obsessed with a capital O.photo 3-1  He is cuddly and snuggly and oh so very bad, but wonderful at the same time.  In love.photo 1-3Russ put him in the cage and put on Sarah McLachlin’s “Angel”, and then rescued him, just so he could say he’s done that.  A real gem, that one!DSC_0113

Then there was camping with Russ and friends a couple weekends ago.photo 4(Am I gazing into the distance??)  I haven’t been for real camping in years so this was super fun.  We left on Friday afternoon, and 3 hours late (thanks, traffic), we were there!  There was campfire cooking, s’mores, beer, Dog Fish Head Brewery & dinner, laughs, and fun.  Me gusta mucho.DSC_0018 DSC_0022 DSC_0027 DSC_0035 DSC_0046If Russ didn’t look like he was going to make me his dinner, I would love this photo.

Hmmm, what else.  My dad and I watched a building get imploded.  I got up at 5:40 am with my dad on a Saturday. #daddysgirlforlife.photo 1-2[The building is in the back.  Scared the bejeezus out of me when the explosions happened.]

We had Rosh Hashana dinner at a neighbor’s house.  Those “what are you doing with your life” questions sure get funner and funner!!! (Dad-I know “funner” is not a word)photo 5

My mom and I took a rare selfie together since the lighting was muy bueno and we look #flawless.  I have a pretty mama, no?

I (FINALLY!!!) got to see XXXtine, Bobby, and Justin last weekend.  It’s been months, so we were super over-due.  Instead of the usual bar grind, we went…roller skating!skating 31 After a lovely dinner made by Justin. We went to the local ‘rink. Haha it was a combination of being old people and being little kids all at the same time.  It’s safe to say we were the oldest, childless, skating people there.skating skating2

I thought it was hilarious and only fell ONCE.  Success.  And Russ held my hand for most of the time. #aw.  In the morning, Christine and I (and Russ) made everyone breakfast (egg sandwiches).DSC_0009[Photo from camping, but you get the jist]

And…lunch yesterday after a 6 mile run.photo 3-4  Furthest distance in weeks.  I plan to write about my exercising and lack thereof in the near to distant future.  Empty promise!

I guess that’s the extent of the funsies from the last three? four?  weeks,  Hey, I’ll take all of the fun/ notschool I can get around here.

Back to studying Orgo, or as my dad pointed out, “orga” for organic chemistry.  Tengo examen manana!
