If you were to ask me who the best cook is that I know, I would say my mom without hesitation. I don’t remember a time when she didn’t come home and cook a homemade meal after a day at work. She is a superhero, an inspired and adventurous cook, and the best mom.
I talk about food a lot on here, but I don’t talk about all of the wonderful things she makes. I thought I would highlight a few meals each week, not only to give you a glimpse into what kinds of things I eat at night, but also so I can look back at my mom’s awesome repertoire.
Beef and pearl onions served over barley
Quiche with roasted broccoli, sauteed onions, cheese and an organic wheat crust (vegetarian)
Mushroom-barley soup with 3 types of mushrooms: porcini, button and shitake (vegetarian)
Braised beef brisket, kishka, roasted broccoli and brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes
