The Weekend and Other Days.

Hello!  I hope you are all feeling well-rested after the weekend.  I didn’t mean to up and disappear like I have for the last 1.5 weeks.  Everyday, I have ´blog´on my to-do list and every day, my to-do list gets away from me.  Things have really, really been picking up in the Bagel and tour departments (two separate entities) and it´s felt a lot like going from one fire to the next.  Speaking of fires, Luis and I went to the gym last week at 6.45 am (bc we are insane) and we saw the 11th (ish) floor of an apartment building ON FIRE.  It was very, very scary.  Luckily, no one was hurt, but damn Spain and their fire-escapeless buildings.  ANYWAY, besides that, things have been going well, just very busy and each day is filled with VIPKID, then bagels, tours, Spanish classes, and ceramics.  It´s been a lot of running around and I am more than ready for a little break from my ‘extra-curricular activities’ in order to feel a little less stressed when it comes to work.  Last night, I got booked for yet another tour this week, meaning I will have 3 in a row and I groaned to Luis and he said ´this is supposed to be for fun, not money, so if you don´t want to do them, don´t do it.  He´s right.  I have to find a balance.  OK with all of that being said, I thought I would share some glimpses into my weekend and a few other days.

On Thursday, I met my friend Sarah for a drink and some chatting on the beautiful rooftop terrace of San Anton market.  img1

I walked home and appreciated the sunny skies that have been so MIA for the last few weeks.  What gives, Madrid?!img2

Later that night, I had a meeting at the new Falafería and I ordered myself a big falafel.  The price was decent and I could only finish half, so Luis enjoyed the rest the next day.img3 img4

That’s Luis giggling like a child 😉

On Friday, I worked until 3:00 and then fell asleep on the sofa.  I was feeling a bit off, but after a 45 minute snooze, I felt better.

That night, we had a glass of wine and a smoothie, but that’s about it.  My stomach was being all types of weird, so I just needed to rest.img1

Later that night, I made a lasagna.

I went to bed bright and early because I had to be up at 7 am for VIPKID and then breakfast and off to the gym.  Instead of going to spinning, I ran for 20 minutes and then Luis and I reconvened for a 30 minute NTC workout that I am still sore from!

Nothing beats the high I get after a good workout on a Saturday. .  (Dad, I know you are thinking: I can think of lots of other things…)

After that, we had lunch on the terrace:

Then I had to go to my apartment to sell some bagels.  It only took a minute, so Luis and I met up to buy some groceries, look at some furniture for his apartment (#adulting), and then later that night, we went out with two of his friends.  It was a lot of fun until about 3:00 am when my grandma gene kicked in and I was more than ready for sleep.  Part of it was anxiety that I would be too tired for the super long event we were going to the next day, where I was going to be speaking for two hours!

The next morning, I felt tired, but ok and was ready to do my presentations.  I did two presentations- one on how to make hummus and another on how to apply for Spanish citizenship due to Sephardic origin.limmud madrid limmud madrid  They both went well, in my opinion!

That brings us to Monday, where I have been feeling groggy all day.  I taught VIPKID all morning, went for a walk, ate lunch, and now I am getting ready to head to the gym before going home to shower and then head to my last Spanish class for a while.

Have a great week!  And just 4 more days until the next weekend!
