What I Ate Wednesday: Numero Diez

Hola, Amigos!

Here we are, back for another week of WIAW!

As always, thank you to Jenn at Peas and Crayons for hosting!

Desayuno (Breakfast)

Well, actually let’s back up to what I ate before breakfast…my pre-workout snack.  Usually I have half of a banana with peanut butter, but yesterday I made these very questionable looking things:ImageThey were supposed to be LARA Bars, but I changed the name to TA[ma]RA Balls (pronounced: Taraballs…a.k.a terribles).  They don’t taste terrible, just look it ;).  They actually taste good, but how can you go wrong with almonds, salt and dates?  You can’t.

I had two of those and they actually kept my stomach from grumbling through a four mile run, a bicep workout and some ab work.  Success!

Once home, I decided to add a little pizzazz to my morning and switch up today’s breakfast…so I made an egg.  Exciting stuff, am I right?!

ImageActually, my dad made me an egg, served over a pancake from the Father’s Day Brunch, with fruit salad, bananas, blackberries and avocado.

And donuts.

ImageWith a little jolt of iced energy!

ImageBetween desayuno and almuerzo, I made a DEEP-DISH COOKIE PIE!  I followed this recipe from Chocolate-Covered Katie and it is AWESOME.  Seriously.  I spent over an hour browsing her site for recipes last night and everything looks incredible, so if you’re looking for healthier dessert options (that don’t taste healthy), check out her site.ImageI tricked Russ and told him it was just a regular cookie pie.  He loved it, which means he didn’t know that a) it’s vegan, b) it has beans in it and c) it has no flour or margarine.  If he had known, he would have been like this:

Almuerzo (Lunch)

Since I spent the day at the pool, I ate lunch out of containers:IMG_2546

Just a big [blurry] salad with blueberries, carrots, tomatoes, apples, lettuce and broccoli.  I also had another date-almond ball and some spinach pie [no photo].

Also, I have been eating cookie pie all afternoon.  It’s sooooooo addicting and completely sugar-coma inducing.

Cena (Dinner)

DInner was ready when I got home from the pool, thanks to my lovely mother.

And for an after dinner snack- I present to you: The Most Addicting Snack Ever:

IMG_2555Seriously, so, so, so addicting,  I swear I could eat the entire bag in one sitting and probably would if I didn’t think I would go into a cheese puff coma.  This snack isn’t bad as far as snack foods go, which makes it quite the excellent munchie after you’ve had a drink or five too many. 😉

Have a very happy Hump Day!

  1. I’ve browsed those healthy recipes too but haven’t gotten around to making any of them yet. When I do use different “healthier” ingredients, I have to sneak it past my friends and family or they will roll their eyes and not even try it!

  2. I’ve never heard of an egg over pancakes before. Do you put syrup on top too? (wow is that a dumb question or what, Ha Ha)
