2017 in Review.

Oh 2017, what a year you were!  So many great and unexpected things happened.  It was a year of a lot of love, a lot of growth, new opportunities, fun, adventure, loss, experience, and change.  It was a good year, and looking back helps me see exactly how wonderful it was.  I am confident that 2018 will only be better, but before we get into that, let’s take a peek back into 2017.

January brought some amazing adventures, from a solo trip to Berlin, to an incredible day spent in Chamonix with Luis.  Those views are something I’ll never forget!year1

In February, I obviously had food on the brain, because I wrote recipe posts for easy homemade hummus, lighter sesame-orange chicken, and all about “cafeterias” in Spain.year2

In March, I recapped our awesome trip to Tangier and Chefchaouen, Morocco in three posts- part I, part II, and part III.  year3

By April, I was writing about the eating habits of the Spaniards and the lessons we can learn, and Shannon and Teresa came to visit! And we went to Ireland!year4

In May, there was some of the best traveling of the entire year!  I went to Tenerife, in the Canary Islands with two friends (Part I, Part II, Part III), and then pretty soon after, I went to Israel (Part I, Part II, Part III) with my parents for one of the most beautiful weddings OF MY LIFE (but I’ve only been to 3, so…) and I met a lot of new family.year6

In June, school ended and summer officially started, but for some reason I wrote a whole lot of “how to” posts, but my favorite was when I learned how to make Spanish tortilla!  A skill for life 😉year7

July was hot, hot, hot, but Luis and I took the most incredible trip to ITALY! (Here is the first post)  We spent 11 days traveling from Milan to Genoa, some by car and some by train, but it was all memorable.year8

In August, I spent half of the month working on Vipkid, when I really started to make some money.  In the second half of the month, Shannon came back to Europe and we traveled to London! (Part I, Part II, Part III)  And then Luis joined us and we headed to Mallorca for some of the best beach time of my life.year9

In September, Luis came to the United States with me!  We hit Philadelphia, New York City, Washington D.C., and Ventnor, New Jersey.  One of my favorite trips of the year because I got to show Luis my turf.year11

October brought back cooler temps, so it was back to Spain and back to work for everyone.  I was feeling reflective, which I expressed in this post, and then did a few weekend recaps.  It was a more low-key month for me.year12

In November, we had the most epic Thanksgiving!  I felt so thankful for all of these people and opportunities in my life.year13

And lastly, December.  Luis and I traveled to Toulouse and and Bordeaux, France.  It was a relaxing trip with my favorite guy.year14

Looking back on each of these posts and memories makes me feel so grateful for everything I have and so lucky to be surrounded by all of these incredible people in my life.  2017 was an AMAZING year, and I am so excited to see what 2018 brings.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you.

Wishing you the best in health and happiness for you and yours.
